{"id":1004,"date":"2025-06-11T07:39:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-11T07:39:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marinemalawi.com\/?p=1004"},"modified":"2025-06-20T11:00:16","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T11:00:16","slug":"zelensky-refuses-talks-on-territory-with-anyone-except-putin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marinemalawi.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/11\/zelensky-refuses-talks-on-territory-with-anyone-except-putin\/","title":{"rendered":"Zelensky refuses talks on territory with anyone except Putin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Kiev\u2019s delegation in Istanbul is authorized to discuss humanitarian issues and ceasefire terms, the Ukrainian leader has said<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ukraine\u2019s Vladimir Zelensky has said he will only discuss territorial issues with Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with the Hungarian outlet Valasz Online released on Tuesday, Zelensky said the Ukrainian delegation at the talks in Istanbul is not authorized to negotiate territorial issues with the Russian side.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201dOur memorandum is a basis for negotiations. Based on it, our delegation has a mandate to discuss humanitarian issues\u2026 or the ceasefire,\u201d<\/em> the Ukrainian leader stated.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhat they do not have a mandate for is to discuss the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is <em>\u201cour own constitutional matter,\u201d<\/em> he said. <em>\u201cIt is my job to have a dialogue about territories \u2013 and Putin, who stole them.
