{"id":622,"date":"2025-06-17T09:23:44","date_gmt":"2025-06-17T09:23:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marinemalawi.com\/?p=622"},"modified":"2025-06-20T10:58:22","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T10:58:22","slug":"fatalities-reported-after-ukrainian-attack-on-russian-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marinemalawi.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/17\/fatalities-reported-after-ukrainian-attack-on-russian-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Fatalities reported after Ukrainian attack on Russian city"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Kiev has shelled a residential area in Donetsk, according to Mayor Alexey Kulemzin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Russian civilians have reportedly been killed and at least ten injured by a Ukrainian strike on a residential district in the city of Donetsk, the city\u2019s mayor, Alexey Kulemzin, said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThree or four hits\u201d<\/em> on peaceful areas, damaging a residential building as well as two public utilities, had taken place, he said, adding that the <em>\u201cdamage is quite significant.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ambulances had evacuated ten people who were injured in the shelling,\u00a0 Kulemzin stated, noting <em>\u201cpreliminary information about fatalities.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Kulemzin had previously warned residents about loud blasts in the city, urging caution. The TASS news agency later reported at least ten powerful explosions in the capital of the Donetsk People\u2019s Republic (DPR).<\/p>\n<p>TASS\u00a0reported that a multi-story residential building has been destroyed and several dozen vehicles damaged in the strike. The outlet\u2019s correspondent has also claimed that at least one person was killed in the attack and three were badly injured.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian forces have regularly targeted residential neighborhoods in Donetsk throughout the ongoing conflict. Just days earlier, a unmanned aerial vehicles injured six teenagers and two adults, according to the DPR\u2019s war crimes documentation department.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n        <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/russia\/619367-tatarstan-drone-attack-uav\/\"><br \/>\n            <span>READ MORE: <\/span>Ukrainian drone attack deep inside Russia kills one \u2013 governor<br \/>\n        <\/a>\n    <\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred during a series of drone attacks that also damaged homes and vehicles in the area.
