Moscow has retrieved the remains of 27 of its service members, Vladimir Medinsky, the top negotiator for talks with Kiev, has confirmed<\/strong><\/p>\n Russia has returned the remains of 1,212 Ukrainian soldiers killed in combat, in the latest exchange between Moscow and Kiev, Kremlin official Vladimir Medinsky confirmed on Wednesday.<\/p>\n The transfer was first announced by Ukraine\u2019s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. It said the bodies were recovered from the front lines in Russia\u2019s Kursk, Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, and Zaporozhye regions, as well as Ukraine\u2019s Kharkov Region. No names or further details were released.<\/p>\n Medinsky, who serves as Moscow\u2019s chief negotiator in talks with Kiev, said Russia received the remains of 27 of its own troops. \u201cNow they can be buried in a Christian manner,\u201d<\/em> he said in a statement on Telegram. He added that the two sides had agreed to begin \u201curgent sanitary exchanges\u201d<\/em> involving severely wounded prisoners of war. \u201cRussia does not abandon its own people,\u201d<\/em> Medinsky said.<\/p>\n
